    Lithium Battery Care Guide

    Battery Care and Maintenance Guide

Taking care and maintaining your battery will extend its life and performance and safety. Whether you’re using our custom battery solutions or Molicel P45B cells, you must follow these guidelines.

    1. Charge and Discharge Best Practices

    • Avoid Full Discharges: Lithium-ion batteries don’t have a “memory effect” so keep your battery between 20% - 80% for regular use. Deep discharges shorten life.

    • Use the Right Charger: Always use the charger that came with your battery and never exceed the recommended charge current.

    • Monitor Charging Temperature: Charge your battery at room temperature. Don’t charge in extreme heat or cold as this will degrade the cells.

    1. Storage Tips

    • Store Partially Charged: If storing for long term, try to leave the battery at around 50% charge. Don’t store fully charged or fully discharged.

    • Ideal Storage Conditions: Store your battery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. 15°C - 25°C is ideal for long term storage.

    • Periodic Checks: For long term storage, check the battery every 2-3 months and top up to 50% if needed.

    1. Safe Usage

    • Water Exposure: Although some of our battery enclosures are water resistant, prolonged water exposure can damage internal components.

    • Overheating: Don’t leave your battery in direct sunlight or other high heat environments. Overheating can cause permanent damage.

    • Do Not Open or Modify: Opening the battery voids the warranty and can be dangerous. If you have any issues, contact our support team instead.

    1. Battery Potting Service

We now offer battery potting, a process where we encase the internal components of your battery in a protective epoxy resin. This will:

    • Longer Battery Life: Potting adds an extra layer of protection against water, dust and physical shocks.

    • Better Thermal Management: It helps in dissipating heat during charging and discharging which is critical for the cells’ life.

    • Extended Warranty: Potting will automatically extend your battery’s warranty by 12 months for a fee of AUD $199.

    1. Lifespan and Warranty

    • Cell Life: Our premium batteries, especially those with Molicel P45B cells, have a life of over 1,000 charge cycles when properly maintained.

    • Extended Warranty Option: With our potting service we offer an extra 12 months of warranty.

    • Original Purchaser Warranty: Warranty is only available to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

    1. Battery Wear Signs

Look out for these signs that your battery is getting old:

    • Decreased Range: If you notice a drop in performance or range, your cells are aging.

    • Increased Heat: If your battery gets hotter during use or charging, it’s a sign of wear.

    • Unusual Noises or Smells: If you notice any unusual noises, smells or swelling in the battery casing, stop using and contact support.

    1. Disposal and Recycling

Lithium-ion batteries should never be thrown away in regular household waste. To dispose or recycle your battery:

    • Contact a Local Recycler: Look for battery recycling programs in your area.

    • Return to Electrified: We offer a battery recycling service for our customers. Send your old battery back to us and we’ll take care of the recycling.
